CHICAGO (June 3, 2018) – Midfielder Rose Lavelle has been added to the training camp roster for the U.S. Women’s National Team as the squad preps for two friendly matches against China PR, taking place on Thursday, June 7 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, Presented by Cutter Insect Repellent (7 p.m. MT / 9 pm ET; FS1 & UDN) and on Tuesday, June 12 at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland (7 p.m. ET; ESPN2).

Lavelle, who has worked hard to overcome hamstring injuries, has played in her last three NWSL matches for the Washington Spirit, and after a 30-minute stint on Saturday evening against the Chicago Red Stars, was deemed fit enough to join U.S. camp.

“There’s been a measured process in place to bring Rose back to fitness, and based on her performance in training with her club and her status after her most recent Spirit match, it gives us an opportunity to integrate her back into the team,” said U.S. head coach Jill Ellis. “This has been a unique situation with Rose, and I want to thank (Washington Spirit head coach) Jim (Gabarra) for being collaborative and communicative in her return to play plan. We’re excited to welcome Rose back into camp.”

Lavelle has earned seven caps and scored two goals since making a sparkling debut for the USA against England at the 2017 SheBelieves Cup.

Lavelle’s addition brings the training camp roster to 25 players.
