CHICAGO (March 27, 2019) U.S. Men's National Team midfielder Christian Pulisic has been diagnosed with a right quadriceps strain after an MRI and evaluation conducted Tuesday night in Houston. He has returned to Borussia Dortmund to continue treatment and establish a timetable for his return to play.
Pulisic left in the 36th minute of the USA's 1-1 draw against defending Copa America champion Chile after scoring the game's opening goal.
The MNT seeks a record-tying seventh confederation title when they compete in the 2019 edition of the Concacaf Gold Cup, set for June 15-July 7 in cities in North and Central America. Entering as defending champions, the MNT is set to open training camp in late May and will play two warmup friendlies prior to the tournament before its group stage matches in Saint Paul, Minn. (June 18), Cleveland, Ohio (June 22) and Kansas City, Kan. (June 26). Concacaf will unveil the MNT's group stage opponents on April 10 in Los Angeles.
