Known for his speed along the touchlines, Tyler Boyd was also quick to make his mark on the USMNT. A dual citizen of the United States and New Zealand, FIFA approved a one-time change for Boyd to represent the United States internationally in May of 2019. Shortly after, he was named to the 23-man Gold Cup roster by MNT head coach Gregg Berhalter. Boyd made his debut for the USA on June 9, 2019 in an international friendly against Venezuela. After representing New Zealand at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey and playing a few friendlies with the senior team, Boyd is not a stranger to the international stage. He has played professionally for Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand, Vitória de Guimarães in Portugal and most recently on loan to Ankaragücü in Turkey, where he scored six goals in 14 appearances.
