ATLANTA (June 1, 2025) – U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Mauricio Pochettino has added 2022 FIFA World Cup veteran Walker Zimmerman along with defender Nathan Harriel and forward Paxten Aaronson to the training camp roster ahead of June matches against Türkiye and Switzerland. Players will begin reporting today to Chicago to start preparation for the summer.
They replace the injured DeJuan Jones (lower body), Sean Zawadzki (knee) and Folarin Balogun (ankle).
Zimmerman, 32, has played 43 times for the United States. The 2022 FIFA World Cup veteran has two international trophies in the cabinet, having been a part of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup winning side and the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League title winners. The Nashville SC defender won MLS Defender of the Year honors back-to-back in 2020 and 2021.
A homegrown product of the Philadelphia Union, Harriel has played for every U.S. Youth National Team from the U-18's through the U-23's. The 24-year-old represented the United States at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, making three appearances in the quarterfinal run and received his first senior National Team call-up in January of 2024.
Aaronson, 21, played all four matches for the U.S. at the 2024 Olympics, scoring twice.
On loan to FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie this past season, his eight goals and four assists helped propel the team to a fourth-place finish. One of 10 pairs of brothers to have represented the USMNT, Brenden and Paxten Aaronson could become the eighth set to play in the same international match.
Nearly one year before the start of the World Cup on home soil, the USA will first host Türkiye on June 7 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.
