ATLANTA (Oct. 17, 2025) – U.S. Soccer will send a combined team of U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team players (born in 2007) and U.S. Under-18 Youth National Team players (born in 2008) to Portugal from Oct. 20-29 for a training camp and two matches.
The USA will face the Republic of Ireland’s U-19s on Oct. 25 and Portugal’s U-19s on Oct. 28, with both games taking place in Setubal, Portugal, just south of Lisbon.
U-19 WNT head coach Carrie Kveton will be head coach for this event and will be assisted by new U.S. U-18 WNT head coach Toni Pressley. Of the 20 players called up for this roster, 12 were born in 2008 and eight were born in 2007.
The roster features one professional player in midfielder Kimmi Ascanio of the San Diego Wave in NWSL, one player from the USL Super League in defender Alexa Strickler of Fort Lauderdale United FC and five college players: goalkeeper Lizzie Thornton from Wake Forest, defender Ella Bard from Louisville, midfielders Olivia Belcher and Paige Thompson, both from Alabama, and midfielder Adia Symmonds from Mississippi State. The remainder of the roster represents 11 different youth clubs.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2006, are age-eligible for next year’s 2026 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Poland, meaning all 20 players in camp are training and playing for a shot at that tournament.
