The 2026 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season is right around the corner, and many familiar faces will be back on the pitch. All 26 players from the U.S. Women’s National Team January training camp will join their NWSL clubs for opening weekend, March 13-15.
The first match of the season between 2025 runner-up Washington Spirit and Portland Thorns FC on March 13 at 8 p.m. ET will feature seven players from the most recent USWNT camp, including Spirit star Trinity Rodman, who recently re-signed with the Washington D.C. side for a record-breaking deal. The two expansion clubs Boston Legacy FC and Denver Summit FC, home to one newly capped Ayo Oke, will begin their inaugural campaigns on Saturday, March 14. Opening weekend concludes on Sunday, March 15 when Angel City FC, including the USWNT’s most recent captain Emily Sams, hosts Chicago Stars FC at BMO Stadium.
