The 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup is just weeks away, and 16 cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico are preparing to welcome the tournament’s expanded 48-team field and millions of fans from around the globe.
The tournament’s opening matches will take place in both Mexico City and Toronto while the Final will be played in MetLife Stadium in New York City as the three host nations share the spotlight.
Here’s a closer look at the World Cup cities and venues hosting the 104 matches of the tournament:
United States
Atlanta Stadium
Known as Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the state-of-the-art facility in downtown Atlanta is home to Atlanta United (MLS), Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and will host the Super Bowl LXII in February 2028. Atlanta soccer fans created a World Cup atmosphere when the USMNT played Belgium and Portugal in March. Nearly 140,000 fans attended the two matches in total. The stadium will host five group stage matches, one Round of 32match, one Round of 16 match and one Semifinal during the 2026 World Cup.
Miami Stadium
Hard Rock Stadium, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, is the home field for the Miami Dolphins (NFL) and the University of Miami’s college football team, the Miami Hurricanes. The venue has hosted multiple large-scale events including six Super Bowls, two World Series, two CFP National Championships, the 2024 Copa América Final and its annual Orange Bowl. During the World Cup, it will host four group stage matches, one Round of 32 match, one Quarterfinal and the Third Place Match.
