- Former French World Cup champion Antoine Griezmann will make his U.S. Open Cup debut after joining Orlando between the Quarterfinals and Semifinals. The veteran goalscorer has nine goals and three assists through his first 13 matches with the Lions across all competitions.
- This will be just the second Open Cup meeting between Columbus Crew and Orlando City after a 2–0 Orlando win in Round of 16 of the 2015 edition of the tournament, Orlando’s first season as an MLS team.
- Columbus Crew has reached the Open Cup Semifinals for the fifth time but the first since 2010. The Crew advanced to the Final in three of their previous four appearances in the last four, winning all three previous meetings with MLS teams at this stage.
- Orlando City is making its third Semifinal appearance in the US Open Cup after reaching this stage in both 2019 and 2022. The Lions defeated Red Bull New York at home on their way to winning the cup in 2022 but lost against Atlanta United in 2019.
- Players who combined for six of Columbus Crew’s eight goals so far in this year’s US Open Cup no longer play for the Crew, including joint-competition leading scorer Hugo Picard (4 goals). The only goalscorers from this year’s tournament remaining on the Crew are Chase Adams and Jamal Thiaré (1 goal each) and neither are suiting up for today’s match.
- Orlando will be without the services of Braian Ojeda, who has recorded three assists for Orlando City in this year’s US Open Cup, tied with three others for the most in the competition in 2026. Ojeda is the first player to contribute three assists for Orlando in a single Open Cup since Benji Michel in the Lions’ winning 2022 campaign.
