NaTIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • A skillful, savvy and cerebral central defender, Cook earned her first call-up to the USWNT in the Fall of 2019 and was one of the first players to make their WNT debut under Vlatko Andonovski, earning her first Senior National Team cap in Andonovski’s second-ever match, a 6-0 win over Costa Rica in the USA’s final game of 2019.
  • She had a breakout year for the USWNT in 2022, more than tripling her career caps and starts while playing in 15 matches, all starts, and played the full 90 minutes in 12 matches while leading the USA with 1,286 total minutes played.  
  • Made four appearances – all starts – at the 2022 Concacaf W Championship where she helped the USA qualify for both the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
  • Scored her first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, on a long-distance strike on April 11, 2023 against the Republic of Ireland.
  • She had two assists, both coming in a 9-1 win over Uzbekistan in April of 2022, becoming the first USWNT defender to record multiple assists in a game since 2019.

CLUB HIGHLIGHTS

  • Started her professional career in Europe with Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and in June of 2021, helped cap off a historic season with Paris Saint-Germain in France as she helped the club win the French league title for the first time, dethroning arch-rival Olympique Lyon.
  • She scored her first professional goal with PSG in the UEFA Women's Champions League semifinal vs. Barcelona in April of 2021.
  • Returned to the USA in the summer of 2021 where she joined OL Reign and quickly became a main stay on defense and was named to the 2021 NWSL Best XI First Team.
  • In 2022, Cook collected NWSL Best XI First Team honors and was a finalist for NWSL Defender of the Year while playing every minute of her 19 starts with the Reign, helping the club capture the 2022 NWSL Shield.

PERSONAL

  • Daughter of Florence and Brian Cook.
  • Has an older sister, Brianna, who played softball at Amherst College and represented the Great Britain National Softball Team at the 2016 World Championship.
  • Majored in Symbolic Systems at Stanford University where she was a team captain, All-American and helped lead the Cardinal to an NCAA Championship.
  • Enjoys cooking, playing the piano and trying new vegan recipes.
