ATLANTA (June 20, 2025) – Twenty-four players have been called up to the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team training camp in Commerce City, Colorado that will run from June 23-July 2. From June 23-June 26, the camp will run concurrently with the U.S. Women’s National Team so U.S. head coach Emma Hayes and her staff can observe trainings. The U-23s will also attend the USA vs. Ireland match on June 26 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. The U-23s will stay in Denver to train after the USWNT leaves for Cincinnati and then Washington, D.C. to finish its slate of matches.
The U.S. U-23s are coming off a pair of games in late May and early June in Germany where it split matches with its German counterparts as each team won one game by a 2-1 score. Nine players on the roster for Colorado were in Germany, but four additional players who were with the U-23s last month – goalkeeper Angelina Anderson, defenders Jordyn Bugg and Lilly Reale and midfielder Sam Meza -- will be with the senior USWNT in Colorado.
The U-23 programming in Colorado is another step in U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes’ emphasis on this age group and its importance along the player pathway to the full National Team.
“Players from the Futures Camp in January and the two U-23 camps this year, in LA and Germany, are now getting senior team call-ups and that’s what we want to see,” said Hayes. “It doesn’t mean that some of these players won’t be in with the 23s down the line, or that some U-23 players who haven’t been called up yet to the full team won’t get their chances, but this is the kind of symbiosis we want between programs. We want to do what’s best for the players to give them National Team exposures so they are as prepared as possible for ’27, ’28 and even ’31.”

The U.S. U-23 WNT roster features players that span five birth years from 2006 to 2002, which is the age cut-off for players to be a part of the U.S. U-23 WNT this year.
This U-23 camp will be led by Yolanda Thomas, who is an assistant coach with the 2024 NWSL Champion Orlando Pride.

- The four college players on the roster include three from Florida State, all of whom were members of the U.S. team at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – defender Heather Gilchrist, midfielder Yuna McCormack and forward Giana Riley.
- Riley Jackson (NC Courage), Emeri Adames (Seattle Reign FC), Ally Lemos (Orland Pride) and Maddie Dahlien (Seattle Reign FC) were also part of the U.S. team that took third at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
- Midfielder Evelyn Shores from the 2024 NCAA Champion University of North Carolina Tar Heels is the other current collegiate player on the roster. She scored the game-winner in the dying seconds against Germany on May 30. Lilly Reale scored the other goal for the USA in that 2-1 win.
- Defender Ayo Oke, who played in the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup for the USA, is a former standout for UC Berkeley and UCLA and is now playing in Mexico for CF Pachuca.
- The nine players on the roster who also played in Germany during the last FIFA window are Lauren Flynn (Utah Royals FC), Emily Mason (Seattle Reign FC), Evelyn Shores (UNC), Jackson, Sarah Schupansky (Gotham FC), Jaedyn Shaw (North Carolina Courage), Dahlien, Makenna Morris (Washington Spirit) and Riley Tiernan (Angel City FC).
- ·Nine players named to the roster have scored in the NWSL this season: Dahlien, Adames and Sally Menti for the Seattle Reign FC, Schupansky for Gotham FC, Jackson for the North Carolina Courage, Morris for the Washington Spirit, Maggie Graham for the Houston Dash, Jayden Perry for Portland Thorns FC and Riley Tiernan for Angel City FC, who has scored seven goals so far as a rookie. With half the season remaining, she is just four away from tying the rookie record for goals scored in an NWSL season.
- Shaw is the only player on the roster with senior USWNT appearances. The 2024 Olympic gold medalists has 28 caps and eight goals for the USWNT.
- Thirteen players on this roster have been on a roster for the USA at a FIFA Youth Women’s World Cup: goalkeeper Mia Justus (Utah Royals), defenders Flynn, Emily Mason (Seattle Reign FC), Gilchrist, Morris and Oke, midfielders Jackson, Lemos and McCormack, and forwards Dahlien, Adames, Shaw and Riley.
- Ten players on the roster were at the USA’s first U-23 camp of the year in February in Los Angeles.
- Ten players on the roster were on the USA’s 2025 Futures Camp Roster in January in Florida, but six players from that camp – D Jordyn Bugg, F Michelle Cooper, D Lilly Reale, D Gisele Thompson, M Claire Hutton and D Avery Patterson – will be with the full USWNT for this latest FIFA window and matches against Ireland and Canada.
- Mason, Flynn and Shaw played in the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
