ATLANTA (Feb. 17, 2026) – Continuing in its mission to create more inclusive development pathways for high-potential youth players, U.S. Soccer announced the launch of the U.S. U-15 and U-16 Boys’ National Team Futures program, beginning with a joint training camp to be held Feb. 19-24 at McCurry Park in Fayetteville, Ga.
Developed through The U.S. Way strategy, the Boys’ National Team Futures initiative will provide additional programming throughout the year for players from ages 14 to 16 years old, with the goal of identifying, supporting and developing high-potential players who physically mature later than their peers. The initiative is additive to the already-existing Men’s Youth National Team structure, which operates seven teams between the U-15 and U-23 age groups, with the U-15 and U-16 BNT Futures each set to gather for camps three times throughout the calendar year.
“We’re excited to add the Boys National Team Futures program to the National Team setup,” said Barry Pauwels, Men’s Youth National Teams Head of Development. “Recognizing that development timelines vary widely for players that are 14 to 16 years old, this initiative creates a more inclusive pathway for high-potential players who might be overlooked due to later physical maturation at these ages. This commitment from U.S. Soccer allows us to provide equal opportunity for more players in these age groups, while also maximizing the depth of our overall talent pool.”
U.S. U-16 BNT head coach Paul Simpson and U.S. U-15 BNT head coach Ross Brady have each called up 24 players for their initial Futures camp.
Twenty-two of the 24 players on the U.S. U-16 BNT Futures roster come from Major League Soccer club development setups. New York City FC leads the way with three players, followed by two apiece from Charlotte FC, Philadelphia Union, San Jose Earthquakes and Seattle Sounders. Atlanta United, Chicago Fire, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City, LAFC, LA Galaxy, Nashville SC, New England Revolution and Orlando City each send one player.
A player apiece also come from Barca Residency Academy of MLS Next and El Paso Locomotive of the United Soccer League.
For the U.S. U-15 BNT roster, 19 of the 24 players come from 14 different MLS club development setups. FC Dallas leads the way with three selections, followed by two each from Charlotte FC, D.C. United and Minnesota United. Atlanta United, Chicago Fire, FC Cincinnati, Colorado Rapids, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, New York City FC, Red Bull New York, San Jose Earthquakes and Seattle Sounders each send one player.
Rounding out the roster are players from MLS Next clubs Barca Residency Academy, Pipeline SC, Sporting Athletic SC and Tampa Bay United.
