Camp Notes: U.S. Youth and Extended National Teams at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center
U-17 WNT and Beach WNT prepare for 2027 cycle, CP MNT and Power National Team hold final camps before respective World Cups
With new cycles starting this summer and international competitions on the horizon, the September training camps are crucial for each team. Here’s a deeper look into the teams at the NTC this week:
Under-17 U.S. Women’s National Team
Head coach Katie Schoepfer selected 24 players for the U-17 WNT training camp running from Sept. 7-14. This is the first training camp of the new cycle for the U.S. U-17 WNT with players born in 2010.
Schoepfer, who was previously at the helm of the U-16 GNT squad, transitioned up an age group to begin preparation for qualifying for the 2027 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Schoepfer led the USA in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, where the team won bronze, and in the 2025 edition, where the U.S. fell to the Netherlands in the Round of 16 in a penalty shootout.
U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team
The camp is part of the team’s continued preparation as it builds toward the 2027 season and a yet to be announced Concacaf Women’s Beach Soccer Championship being planned in the region for the first time.
U.S. Power Soccer National Team
The U.S. Power Soccer National Team will meet for the fifth and final time this year from Sept. 11-15 ahead of the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Argentina from October 15-24. The U.S. finished in third place at the most recent Powerchair World Cup in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
The roster is led by three-time Power Soccer Player of the Year Riley Johnson (2023, 2024 and 2025) and six more players who represented the USA at the 2025 APFC Americas Cup, the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Powerchair Football World Cup. The final U.S. roster for the tournament will be finalized after this camp.
“Our veteran group understands what it takes to compete at the highest level,” said head coach Tracy Mayer, “and we’ll lean on that experience and leadership as we sharpen the details, continue building our chemistry and prepare ourselves to perform at our very best when we arrive in Argentina.”
