NATIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Made USMNT senior debut on March 24, 2023, starting in the 7-1 win over Grenada in the Concacaf Nations League at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, assisting a Weston McKennie's goal.
- Started and played the full 90 minutes in the 5-1 win over Uruguay on Nov. 18, 2025, in Tampa, Fla., providing the assist an Alex Freeman goal.
- Named one of the standout performers of the USMNT's March 2026 camp after starting in the match vs. Portugal on March 31, 2026, in Atlanta.
2026 FIFA WORLD CUP CYCLE
- Earned senior debut in the March 2023 Concacaf Nations League window with a start and an assist in the 7-1 rout of Grenada at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
- Returned to senior camp under head coach Mauricio Pochettino in the November 2025 international window after a stretch of focusing on his club career in Europe.
- Started and went the full 90 in the 5-1 home friendly win over 15th-ranked Uruguay on Nov. 18, 2025 in Tampa, Fla., contributing an assist to Alex Freeman.
- Selected for the USMNT's March 2026 camp in Atlanta and started the second of two friendlies against Portugal on March 31, 2026.
CLUB HIGHLIGHTS
- Joined Scottish Premiership club Celtic FC on a five-year deal on Aug. 30, 2024 and has become a regular starter at center back for the Bhoys.
- Made his UEFA Champions League debut for Celtic on Sept. 18, 2024 against Slovan Bratislava.
- Scored his first Celtic goal on Jan. 4, 2025, finding the net to make it 2-0 in a 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren at Celtic Park.
- Signed for Premier League club Arsenal on Jan. 31, 2022, completing the move from the Colorado Rapids; remained with the Rapids on loan through July 17, 2022.
- Loaned to Birmingham City in the EFL Championship for the 2022-23 season, making 47 appearances and earning the club's Player of the Season award.
- Signed permanently for newly promoted Premier League side Sheffield United on Aug. 3, 2023; made his Premier League debut on Sept. 16, 2023 in a 2-1 result at Tottenham Hotspur.
- Made 57 MLS regular-season appearances over three seasons with the Colorado Rapids (2020-2022), helping the club to the 2021 Western Conference final.
- Signed his first MLS contract with hometown Philadelphia Union as a Homegrown Player on Aug. 10, 2016, after coming up through the Union academy beginning in 2011.
- As a 20-year-old in 2018, made 34 starts at center back for the Union and was the only Union player to play every minute of every regular-season match, a league record for the youngest field player to do so over a 34-game schedule.
PERSONAL
- Native of Media, Pa.; began playing soccer with Nether United Soccer Club in nearby Wallingford and attended Penncrest High School before joining the Philadelphia Union youth setup in 2011.
- Youngest of six children — all of his siblings played collegiate soccer.
